Apatite crystal cluster with Actinolite and Rutile

This impressive specimen measures ca. 30x20 cm. The raw look is even further enhanced by leaving the specimen in its natural state, with some apatite crystals slightly stained, which adds to the appeal of this unusual piece.

Found by Glenn Martin Naess,
Froland, Norway

Shortprismatic tabular-shaped crystals are stacked on top of each other to create a massive look and amazing structure, contrasted with the individual crystal surfaces.

On the back of the specimen, actinolite crystals form a nest of dark-green needles. What a contrast between the brutal raw structure on one side and fragile sparkling needle-like crystals on the other.
